Walking through the winding streets of Victoria during the Festival of St George Gozo is like stepping into a living painting, one rich in history, colour, and collective spirit. This year, I had the privilege of documenting the 2025 celebration through my lens, capturing both the timeless devotion and the sheer spectacle of Gozo’s most iconic festa.

The statue of St George, depicted in Roman armour triumphing over the dragon, is carried in solemn procession through the decorated streets of Victoria during Gozo’s most celebrated festa.

From early morning rituals to the thunder of fireworks echoing off limestone walls, the festival is a sensory feast. But behind the noise and brilliance lies a story centuries in the making—a story that speaks to Gozo’s heart and soul.
