Thirty years of looking at buildings has come down to one habit: stand still longer than everyone else. The galleries here are the result. Carved portals shot in sections and stitched into images you can walk into, bronze that has gone green at the shoulders, the back of a saint’s head that nobody has looked at since the mason put his tools down. Most are made with a long lens from the ground, some with a drone, all of them slowly.
The detail is the story. The whole building is just where it lives.

Damien Hirst Sculpture at St Bartholomew the Great
5 photographs · London
Damien Hirst's golden bronze sculpture 'Saint Bartholomew, Exquisite Pain' is displayed within the historic, vaulted interior of St Bartholomew the Great church. These photographs capture the anatomical ecorché figure, which features intricate flayed muscles and the saint holding his own skin alongside a scalpel or surgical scissors. The contemporary artwork creates a sharp contrast against the ancient stone arches and church sanctuary.

Your building, photographed the way it deserves
Galerio works with cathedrals, museums, heritage sites and architects to make features like the ones on this site: a full day on site, photographs, a short film, and a written piece published here and available for your own use.
