Street niches · Victoria

Victoria has more than forty religious niches set into its walls: small shrines of stone, plaster and paint, some centuries old, some repainted last spring, most walked past without a glance. This is a record of all of them — where each one is, who it’s for, and what it tells you if you stop.

Something caught your eye?

A question about a photograph, a thought about the story, or something you see differently? Write to me. I’d like Galerio to be a place where we can talk, as well as look.
